A delegation from the Yunnan Provincial Women's Federation in China visited Nari Uddug Kendra and the Bangladesh Women's Foundation as part of an international exchange on women's development programming. The visit allowed both organisations to compare approaches to long-standing, shared challenges: women's economic empowerment, health access, and political representation.
What was shared
NUK presented its model of pairing direct service delivery โ through its community and eye hospitals and garment worker support program โ with sustained policy advocacy at the national level. Delegates discussed how each organisation navigates the balance between donor-funded programming and long-term institutional sustainability.
A long-standing partnership
The visit also highlighted NUK's ongoing relationship with the Bangladesh Women's Foundation, a partner organisation supporting women's health and economic empowerment in Bangladesh, with whom NUK regularly coordinates on shared advocacy priorities.
